Honey and Maple Syrup Hair Mask

I was a little skeptical about trying this hair mask because the thought of coating my hair with two things as sticky as honey and maple syrup just wasn't a nice thought! Fortunately my hair ended up being super soft after.

You only need two ingredients, honey and maple syrup.
3 tbs pure maple syrup
1-2 ts honey

1.  Put your measured ingredients into a microwave safe bowl and microwave for intervals of 10 seconds until they can be mixed together. After about 25 seconds maximum It should be ready.

2.   Wait until the mixture is cool and apply to your hair. Avoid applying to your roots as it may cause them to appear greasy. I applied a tiny layer to my roots. I applied it to wet hair but I have read that it also works on dry hair.
I found that I had enough to cover all my hair, and I have pretty long, thick hair.

3. Wrap your hair in a shower cap and leave for 20-30 minutes. I didn't have a shower cap so I just wrapped it in plastic wrap!
I put my hair in a low bun to start with so I could wrap it easier.
I found that it wasn't staying around the edges so I put a headband over top.
4. After 30 minutes I had a shower with lukewarm water and rinsed my hair with about half the normal amount of shampoo and conditioner I usually use. Your hair shouldn't feel sticky when your done with all of this.

The next day I woke up and my hair was really soft, and shiny, plus it smelt amazing.
If you have any questions, concerns, or comments leave a reply in the comment box below. This summer I will probably be blogging some more hair masks, so let me know if you like them.

How to turn you old baggy Teeshirts into tanktops!

I have so many baggy old tee shirt sitting in my closet and I never wear then but never seemed to get rid of them. When I  first learned how to do this I was glad I kept them all. I started with an old relay for life Teeshirt and the only other thing you need is scissors.

I started out by laying it out Flat on my floor and cutting of the sleeves. I cut right along the outside of the seam and then it will be nice and round. You will probably have to trim it later but it's better to start with cutting less.

Then I cut off the neckline. I cut the collet off and I followed the seam. I didn't just cut it in a half circle, I cut it all the way around as close to the seam as possible.

Then I flipped it Over so that the back was facing up. Then I scrunched up the sides to make a racer back and tied it with a piece of fabric from the sleeve.

I tied it loosely at first so that I could adjust it later. I just wrapped the fabric around two or three times and tied it. Then I twisted it around so you couldn't see the knot.

Once I tied it i tried it on and found it was a little tight in the neck and arms.

All you have to do is untie the back and cut the arm holes and neck hole a little bit bigger. I marked the shirt with a yellow sharpie while it was still on so I knew here to cut.
Here is the finished product! It looks so much better and it is so comfy. To make it fit a little better you can gently pull on the arm holes to stretch them out. Here is a look at it from the back (sorry, Iwas trying to get it in the mirror and it didn't work very well).
If you have any questions or comments write them in the comment box and I will reply as soon as I can :)

May Favorites

I know it's June third but things have been so crazy in my life the last few weeks, especially with exams fast approaching, but I thought I might as well still do my May favorites.

1. My toms!

These are like the most comfy shoes ever! I have been wearing them almost every day and now that they are broken in they are amazing. They are molded to my feet at I really want to get another pair!

2. Peppermint tea
I have been drinking this twice a day because I am super addicted! With a little milk and sugar it is perfect, plus it is good for you and helps me sleep.

3. Burt's Bees Chapstick
This Chapstick is super moisterizing and since I have super dry lips 24/7, it really nice. It goes on so smoothly and I have one of the tinted ones, in pink blossom and the colour lasts all day and my lips don't dry out. I also have the pink grapefruit and I had a mango one (but I used it all up) and they smell delicious.

4. Mint green nail polish
I love this colour so much! It so springy but will transition nicely into summer. I got mine at Ardenes for about $1 and even though it was cheep it actually goes on really nicely. I have been wearing this colour a lot especially with corals and lavender colours.

5. Water Marble nails
While this technique is a little bit difficult, but once you get it it's super fun, not to mention you get a ton of compliments. I love that you can personalize it for any occation and you can use lots of colours with out it looking to little kidish. Plus it stays on for a long time.

6. Maybelline one by one volume express
Thi is my absolute, all time favorite mascara! I rebuy it all the time and I love it so much. It has zero clumps and it goes on so nicely. It makes my lashes look so long, but so natural! I love the blakest black waterproof and the brown one for more natural lashes.

7. Teeshirts
It started out that I would have casual Friday every week and wear a Teeshirts on Fridays. Now they are so comfy and I don't feel like I'm under/overdressed for school. Plus I can throw on a light jacket in the morning and then throw it in my backpack after school and be nice and cool.

8. The Sun!
I think this is everybody's favorite! We had a week of 30 degree weather then it went back down to being like 10 degrees and raining every day. It is finally warming up and I am sittin outside right now tanning as I write this!

9. Music
I have made two new playlists this month and starting with over forty songs I have narrowed it down to these ones.

If you ever come back- The Script
On my way- Charlie Brown
I'm alive- Michael Franti
Lego house- Ed Sheeran
Trouble maker- Olly Murs
Let me love you- Ne-Yo

Next month I will have more favorites and If you want to share your favorites comment them below! :)

Water Marble nails

This is a technic that I discovered a year or two ago and although I haven't done it for a while I just love how it looks. Once you get the hang of it, it's actually pretty easy.
I started with painting all my nails white. It doesn't have to be perfect because it will be covered up. (You can use any colour and I usually pick a colour that I am using  in my water marble so it blends in).
Then you have to tape you fingers so the nail polish wont get all over you. I take two pieces and wrap one around the top and the sides and the other around the bottom.
Then get a container of water (room temperature or a tiny bit warmer), I used a Dixie cup. If you using a disposable cup, especially if its foam, be careful because if to much nail polish sinks to the bottom it will eat right through the cup.
Then pick a few different colours of nail polish you want to use. Then I always test them out to see how the work. All you have to do is put one drop in the center of the water and it should spread out nicely. If it doesn't you might want to pick different colours. To clean the nail polish of the surface of the water just use a toothpick or a q-tip to scoop it out.

Next drop one colour into the water, then put a drop of a different colour into the center. Continue this and they should continue to spread out until you have a bullseye.
When it looks like this (or with more rings) you take a tooth pick and lightly draw a pattern into it. Start from the center and move out, just never touch the very edge.
Once you have a pattern you like dip a finger or two straight into the water. Your nails should be parallel to the water. Then leave you nails in the water while you clean the rest of the nail polish of the surface. Then slowly pull your fingers out and once they have completely dried you can peel of the tape.
Hopefully it works for you, and don't give up! Leave me a comment if you have questions. Here is the finished look.

Ocean Toe Nails

Today I'm going to show you this quick, easy toenail design. You can you any colour family, but I decided to go with blues, because it reminded me of the ocean and looked springy. I used a dark blue, a minty green, a white and a sparkly silver.
The colours I use where-
Sally Hansens invisible top coat
Sally Hansens white on
Sally Hansens blue me away
Sally Hansens showgirl chic
ACO Malibu splash

I started with a clear base coat so that the polish will stay on longer and keep my nails looking clean.
Then painted each of my toes a different colour, going in a random order, causing to turn out looking more unorganized but cute.
Once that totally dried I applied one to two more coats and then a top coat to lock in your look. Here is the finished look.

Why I started this blog!

I'm not really sure why I started this blog. Maybe its because I just need to write out everything that happens in my life. Maybe so I can share all my ideas with everyone else. But for any reason I am committed to making this an amazing blog. I will be posting everything from my days events to DIY projects, to tutorials. I am hoping that everyone will really enjoy this blog and it will really be spectacular.

I will try to post as often as possible but I have a busy schedule. This semester I have physics, chemistry, pre-calculus, and psychology. Plus after school I have gymnastics on Mondays and Wednesdays, and coach gymnastics on Thursdays. Soon I plan on getting a job so I can earn some money to go towards university. For a 17 year old that is a lot to handle. Add on driving lessons, friends, and family and I basically have no free time. But I will fit in blogging at least a few times a week because I am really excited about this!
